now why would KM have a patent for a Nikon 20/1.8G?

    • It was not clear from the Google translation.

Because that is what they do?

and when is the last time you saw Konica Minolta patent a Nikon lens?

        • harvey

ok, so after a bit of Google translating, as far I can figure out, this is a joint application by Nikon and KM for a new 20/1.8G with a different optical design. Something about optical filters and drop-ins and some other stuff which may have had nothing to do with this patent since there was mention of super-telephotos and Contax/Coscina Milvuses …

I mean they design lenses (and probably build as well) for other brands (or not released under the KM brand). I don’t know nor particularly care whether they have made lenses for Nikon in the past, but this is definitely what they do.
