Presumably that sensor is cropped like LX100?

    • MonkeySpanner

Good question. I don’t know why they don’t just use a 1″ sensor. After cropping the m43 sensor, it is about the same size as the 1″ sensor.

    no touch screen AF again?

  • Originaru

Holy cow! Amazing specs if true!

  • SH*T666

Very interesting indeed. If it had a slighty wider lens-bigger sensor (20-21 mm eq.), it would be the perfect all-terrain tool.

    • BdV

If they (also) release a fixed prime version with 20mm (40mm equivalent), that would be cool. Unfortunately ’tilting like GX8′ = articulating.

  • Shutterbug

Still no PDAF? Going to need that to compete with the Nikon DL.

  • Larry Ellis

Those specs in a classic LC1 body would be nice. That truncated lens on the LX100 was hideous.

what are the big news? (seriously)

    • Duncan Dimanche

      What is your problem (seriously)
      here is the news:
      ND built in
      20mpx vs 12mpx
probably a better lens (not news yet)
      better evf
      better AF

The lx100 was going to be my go to camera but I guess I’ll have to wait a tiny bit more now…

      ps cheer up Frank !

Its just a question, depends on how you read it to yourself, so I added the (ser..).
I just didn’t want to go trough all the specs.
I mean, they put a ND filter in lx7, didn’t know they left it out. Is a increase of MP good on an small sensor..?..
better af, evf, no BIG improvemet..

Maybe call it lx100 II, or will the go down the tz road. Every year put on a minor “improvement”?

Dont get me wrong, I almost bought a lx100 my self, lovely cam, but would be nice if they used more of the sensor.

Some people is going nuts in here, so just wondered if it was anything with the specs i didn’t see.

I’m happy 🙂 20 cm of fresh snow outside and season pass in me pocket. Going shreddin!

Add weather sealing, tilt LCD and any amount more than 12 megapixels without dropping DR and I’m interested.

I’d like this hypothetical “LX200” but would rather have an “LX1” with:

    Fixed 40mm F/1.4
    FF sensor
    Tiltty flippy screen
    Better EVF
    Weather sealed
    $US 2200
    (A digital Lynx)

Or for Panasonic to buy Konost and make it happen

The reason for the M4/3 sensor is it allows the multi aspect ratios with less loss of MP’s than if you had multi aspect on a 1″ sensor. It means that for the 4/3 aspect you are pretty much getting all the sensor.

  • MonkeySpanner

Not sure why someone has not yet produced a 12mp 1″ sensored video focussed body. Kind of a cross between the gh4 and Sony a7s. But in a body the size of the rx100 series. I think Panasonic is well positioned to do just that.

Ever heard of the Canon XC10?
