Zhongyi Mitakon 20mm f/2.0 4.5X high magnification ratio macro lens now in stock


The new Zhongyi Mitakon 20mm f/2.0 4.5X compact macro with high magnification ratio lens from ZY Optics that was announced a week ago is now in stock on eBay and B&H (price: $200). The lens is available in Canon EF, Nikon F, Sony A, Pentax K, Sony E, Micro Four Thirds and Fuji X mounts.

    The lens has almost no to ability focus … it can be used from 4x to 4.5x … so you have to use some kind of focusing slider …
    Seams to me that at this price point (or even cheaper) similar or better and more practical way to achieve this kind of magnification (or larger) would be to use shorter (28-40mm) enlarging lens in reverse position and bellows …

    Looks like a clone of the Olympus OM Zuiko Auto-Macro 20mm f/2 from the ’80s: same look, same 6 elements in 4 groups and same 20mm working distance.

      Very good point … it is exactly the same thing … except Olympus was Auto lens meaning meaning automatic aperture and with 6 blades and better bokeh and certainly better built and better looking … but way more expensive at almost 1000$ used …

    You need a precision focus rail to use this thing. At 4.5x, it’s like you’re looking through a 1000mm lens, any tiny vibration will be noticed.
