Pentax Japan has listed two new announcements for tomorrow, January 17, on their website. The first one is for a new firmware update 1.01 for the Pentax K-5 II, the second is for a new Efina entry level digital compact camera with a “stylish design“. Pentax used to have an Efina film camera model with an unusual design.

The Japanese online magazine Impress interviewed the head of Pentax Ricoh Product Development who said that “a new set of 35mm full frame specifications is being formulated and that new moire removal algorithms are being developed as new in-camera function (which the K-5IIs doesn’t have). Besides, a Ricoh brand new camera will come.”
