Canon’s 120MP camera on display at the 2016 Shanghai Canon Expo

Canon’s 120MP sensor was initially announced in 2010 and was on display at the 2015 CP+ show. At the 2016 Shanghai Canon Expo, the company had a camera with a 120MP sensor on display. Sone interesting observations:

Canon’s 120MP sensor is nothing new

The 120MP CMOS APS-H sensor Canon has on display at the 2015 CP+ show is nothing new – it was already officially announced back in 201o. The 2.2 µm pixel pitch sensor (29.2mm x 20.2mm, 13280×9184 pixels) can get 9.5fps “made possible by reading multiple pixels simultaneously at high speeds – a process Canon is calling parallel signal processing'”.
