The new version of the camera has what looks like a seemingly cool feature: it auto-focuses, but if you don’t like where it’s focused, you simply tap the screen where you would like the focus to be.
And as mentioned, video is 30fps.
I don’t see Apple going into the DSLR business, but they could probably come out with a killer still/video P&S — not necessarily one that serious hobbyists and pros would like, but one that has a killer user interface and feature set that end-users would love. I think Apple is fully capable of redefining this category and taking substantial sales away from the traditional players if they wanted to. Note that there’s no rumor to this effect, but it’s certainly feasible.
Correct – this is just the continuation of the two previous Apple related posts (which were rumors at that time) where I was going in exactly the same direction: the iPhone will replace the regular p&s camera (not the high end ones like Lieca, m4/3, etc).
awesome feature, this would definitely entertain any gearhead when this p&s feature
Good news but definitely predicable. Camera on phone is nothing new, I believe someone made a cellphone with 12mp cam.
