I got some more info on the Samsung announcement - the new compact camera will be HZ30W:
- Design like HZ series
- 1/1.8" CMOS sensor instead of a CCD 1/2.33" (10mx?)
- ISO 100-3200
- Video Full HD
- 5X optical zoom (24-120mm) with ring zoom
- 3" AMOLED
- RAW files
- It will call WB700 in Europe
The GX30 will be like K7, but with the GX20 design.
Continuation on the Samsung GX30 thread: In South Korea the official presentation will be the July 7th and will have 3 cameras:
- GX30 (DSLR)
- NX3 (Hybrid camera)
- HZ30W / WB700 (compact camera)

The only information until now is about the compact camera. It will have a CMOS 1/1.8″ sensor instead a CCD 1/2.33″ and probably RAW format.
I have been able to confirm some rumors…
Yes, will have a new compact HZ camera, it will be HZ30W:
-Design like HZ serie
-1/1.8″ CMOS sensor (10mx?)
-ISO 100-3200
-Video FullHD
-5X optical zoom (24-120mm) with ring zoom
-3″ AMOLED
- RAW files
It will call WB700 in Europe
The GX30 will be like K7, but the GX20 design.
The NX camera, nothig for now… : (
1/1.8″ is considered big now? It’s still not going to give you short DOF at normal distances. It used to be a standard compact sensor size a few years ago. Now that everyone is saving this size for the more exclusive models, it’s suddenly big? How sad things have turned out. Micro FT to the rescue.
Mark, the HZ serie are compact camera like Panasonic LX-3, Canon G10, etc, a CMOS 1/1.8″ in compact camera serie is a big sensor, the Canon, Nikon, etc… use 1/2.33″ smaller than 1/1.8″. The LX-3 use a 1/1.6″ sensor.
This model is not the NX camera it will have a APS-C sensor bigger than M4/3 sensor.
True or false??
This is a OLED technology forum…
