Us Nikon users could have used a shot like this on the D300s, nobody would have doubted then I guess…

    Atleast it’ll have video

    i) Doesn’t look like a photoshopped 5D Mark II or 500D as the EOS and 7D are together. The 5D Mark II also has no pop up flash.

ii) 4 mic holes like the 500D. Same audio?

iii) The name plating of having the EOS and 7D directly on top of each other is reminiscent of the XXD line’s plating so the 7D looks to be the successor to the 50D.

iv) It seems to have a PC Sync terminal judging from the rubber cover much like the 50D

    v) With signs indicating its closeness to the XXD series, I doubt it has a full frame sensor as Canon will need to maintain a 6fps DSLR for serious enthusiast who can not afford their 1D line. APS-H is more plausible.

I’m thinking what Dan said too.

I so hope this isn’t FF. The 5D-II is under-specced enough in many areas and the last thing we need is an even lower spec camera competing against Nikons flagship APS camera, all for the sake of a sensor that 90%+ of the market couldn’t care less about..
A mini-1D with an APS-C sensor is desperately needed. An APS-H sensor with a way to mount EFS lenses, which Canon have long been rumoured to have sorted, would be icing on the cake.

            I’m not.

I’d love a FF lightweight SLR to use properly with WA primes like the 20 F28. I’d get a 5D if it wasn’t so damned bulky and heavy. Having had the 10D (or was it D10, I never can remember) I know that a 800 gr body is too heavy for my willpower even if it has a FF sensor.

I think this is a fake!

Check out the poistion of the light that’s reflecting on the flash button and the top right part of the body. The light sources seems to be in a slighly higher poosition on the flash button.
