Epson’s new 0.52” QHD Liquid Crystal Panel for EVFs

epson EVF 0.52 Epsons new 0.52” QHD Liquid Crystal Panel for EVFsEpson develops 0.52-inch QHD HTPS TFT Color Liquid Crystal Panel for Electronic Viewfinders. Measuring just 0.52 of an inch diagonally, the new panel offers QHD (960 x 540) resolution in red, green and blue for a total of 1.56 megapixels. The viewfinder is targeted for broadcast and industrial camcorders for professionals.

This product could be used in future digital cameras.

    The successor to HD is Quad HD (3840×2160), I am afraid this abbreviation QHD will get confused with pretty easily.

      i think that in the context of image resolution acronyms, “Q” commonly means quarter (eg QVGA 320×240, VGA 640×480), they must have a different word for quad to avoid the confusion. RED and other cinema cameras use notations like 3K, 4K, 5K, …etc to express the horizontal resolution in kilo’s, so 4K means the camera’s movie res is 4000 pixel horizontally. One of the very high res is called Ultra HD.

          could also be 3840×2160 close to 4K.

    I would love to be able to print B&W digital pictures via my darkroom enlarger. with a super HD projector or else.
