Tamron keeps us guessing

Update: the long awaited secret was a new website for Tamron.eu.

Tamron.de does have a sense of humor – they keep responding to the Internet rumors by updating the banner on their front page:

tamron rumors banner Tamron keeps us guessing

previous banners:

tamron rumor update Tamron keeps us guessing

new tamron lens rumor Tamron keeps us guessing

So, what is it going to be? I say webpage re-design (they need one). If I am correct, I expect a free lens from you Tamron.de! I would like that new SP AF17-50mm F/2.8 XR Di-II VC LD Aspherical (IF) lens please. Thank you very much. I am waiting…

Flash is also what came to my mind, but that would surprise me.
    Bags?
    Tripods?
    Filters?

    These aren’t fun tho…

    cellphone? lol
    mp3 player?

Anyway.. they sure got a nice way to attract people to their webpage… I camera would have been interesting, a new player.

It would be even funnier if eventually they said “Suckers! It was just a lens, after all. What do you think we make around here anyway!”

I don’t know if anybody noticed, but if you look closely at the 3 different banner, you can see in transparent a website menu/header with the Tamron logo and it look tottaly different then the actual Tamron.de site. So I think it my be a new website layout or a online sotre!

Not a lens? Pity. I would very much like a VC redesign of their current 28-75 2.8. Make that a 24-75 2.8 or 24-70 2.8 please.

Adapt-all-digital lens adaptor for all functions on all mounts. Electronic contacts between lens and adaptor. With built in autofocus motors a new adapt-all can autofocus and meter in all lens mounts. It would be a major selling point.

Hahaha :D They are good! Looks like someone from Tamron reads this website as well as several other – hehe, nice :D

But yea – it’s a website. You can see it more and more clearly on banner. It’s good cause Tamron could use a new site :)

Maybe they will come out with Sigma’s much delayed SD-15 DSLR before Sigma does. Then again who cares?!

I guess we all understood all this campaign is actually about nothing of interest. Everything else is a joke (I hope a modular non-reflex camera :D )

as it stands the new Ricoh system has less modular/interchangeable flexibility than ordinary interchangeable lens systems, but the day Ricoh makes a lens/sensor unit with a lens mount (ie you can detach a lens and attach another to the sensor unit), then and only then they will be more modular than conventional interchangeable lens systems.

yes it is, with more languages to choose from, and a different extension: “.eu”. Also look at the bottom for the languages, one is grayed out, I guess judging the colors, it will be Dutch :-P

      Wow, new website!
I hope it’ll be at B&H soon. I would buy a couple (one for back-up) if it is compatible with my Nikon flash… is it? I also hope it is more modular than Ricoh’s…
