Samyang kept their promise and delivered two new lenses with Olympus 4/3 mount - Samyang 8 mm f/3.5 fish eye and Samyang 85 mm f/1.4 lenses:
"Apart from adjusted bayonet, optics in the products will remain the same. Both lenses will be available with manual focusing. Both lenses will become available at the end of March 2010."
Samyang is also expected to released a chipped version of their 8mm 3.5 fisheye and new 85mm f/1.4 lenses (Nikon mount). The 85mm f/1.4 is expected to be released in March 2010.

Chipped, meaning D-version? Or AF-D?
Just D, no AF.
No one need AF on a 8 mm, that’s why this lens will be so interesting imho.
I’ll buy one for sure if price stay under 250 €.
Samyang seems cheap, but they are like Zeiss, way behind in features Nikon bodies can take advantage of. Zeiss has now announced and released “D-versions” of most of their current lenses, and now Samyang will follow. What’s next, when will AF come true for those “cheap” alternatives?
Don’t forget that what makes some companies “cheap” is that they are not taking huge R&D (research & development) fees, but rather they focus on very specific solutions. They aren’t selling to mass markets of scale like the other guys either. So their budget is quite limited when it comes to features, and if they spent money on features it would blow costs out of the water. Companies with markets of scale like Sigma can attempt it and partially succeed. But Samyang..? You may be asking a lot. Zeiss seems like the kind of brand that could compete in Sigma/Tamron’s market and be wildly successful — why they do not do it is hard to say from a Nikon consumer point of view… Out of curiosity, I wonder where they are more heavily investing themselves?
you dont really need af on the fisheye cuz it’s like super wide everything will be in focus if you throw it near infinity. but a chipped version of it would be nice for my d90

True, but Zeiss is no longer what it used to be. It’s all made by Cosina and way overpriced for performance.
I think getting exif/Av would be nice on the Samyang 85. I wonder if they’ll keep the aperture or get rid of it (a la “g” series).
