Hasselblad with a Leica killer?

hasselblad rumor Hasselblad with a Leica killer?

Hasselblad will reveal their secret in 4 days. I got some rumors today that besides a new website, they will also introduce "an interesting new option" which will be their answer to the Leica S2. Don't have other details at that point.

hope its a medium format dslr -rangefinder, like the mamiya 7 or pentax 67, for 5K. 25MP is enough , I will buy some for 1$ :)

@tibor : it is an answer to the Leica S2!

The problem with Hasselblad is the lenses. Focal length were selected for 6×6, not for the reduced size of digital backs.

On its side, Leica S2′s lenses were natively designed for digital. Moreover, Leica has the best team of lens designers around.

A real Hassel and Leica killer would be Pentax 645D with their quite wide selection of second hand AF lenses for 645 system. Especially if rumors about its price close to 6500$ would come true…

At least in France, Pentax has some serious problem with their service : they outsourced the support of Pentax 67 & 645 to an external company, which is very slow, bad and EXPENSIVE.

NOT a single professional will seriously consider a new Pentax MF without some quality service.

Well, that can change with 645D, which will come for sure. In analog times, they were one of the biggest MF players, if not the biggest with very good support for their MF cameras. But we’ll see soon what happens in reality :-)
