Terry White wrote this on his blog today referring to the just released iPad Camera Connection Kit:
"I know what you're thinking: Wouldn't it be cool if we had Lightroom for the iPad? All I can say on that one is….. ;)"
FYI: Terry White is a Worldwide Design Evangelist for Adobe Systems, Inc.
There is some tension between Adobe and Apple since Apple refuses to enable support for Flash in the iPhone/iPad.
Here is a small video I did with compressed DNG files from a Leica M9 on the iPad (each file was 18.3MP) - very snappy!

iPad loads JPEG preview from RAW files. sure it is snappy then. I know some Apple fans are pretty hardcore, but no, Apple cannot write code to beat C2Duo which is already everything but snappy in RAW previews (for a reason) using general purpose CPU.
The iPad is more than fast enough for RAW processing in the field. The biggest issue is the lack of color management and inability to calibrate the screen.
a lightroom light with only the possibility to catalog and keyword the pictures would already be pretty cool. Some weeks ago I opened a topic about this on the adobe forums.
interesting vid alright. Still i wouldn’t like to smear around a screen like that.
aaaaaa thn again looking at iPadz rez why do you want something as advanced as Lightroom in that Rez ?
Picaso will be more thn enf
This has quite a bit of potential. It would be really awesome to get direct wireless connectivity from eye-fi to iPad, without having to use a computer in the middle. The iPad would be the perfect external display for photographers, but unfortunately the USB connector that Apple is pushing right now really kills the real-time experience.
YOU BETTER HAVE CLEAN HANDS LOL!!!
