I like the idea of the camera being a mini-picture frame. I could see lots of people giving that kind of a thing as a gift after a holiday today, fully loaded with the family pics together. The back would have to be entirely operated by touch-screen with low profile top buttons. And there would need to be a stand and hinge built into the front (for convenience). It could run on the battery or be plugged int. Not a bad idea for a little picture frame with a dual use. Kind of the Nikon projector P&S, I believe it would sell, especially to the mom/dad & grandparents crowd. A slightly bigger camera that is just small enough to be pocketed, it wouldn’t be the smallest P&S, but they could make it pretty slim, im sure.

I also like the idea of a charger station being a picture frame. If the picture frame was thick enough and the camera thin enough, you could slide it right in (like a giant SD card!). Pull it out after its recharged. Internal frame memory would keep the pics playing. But when camera is loaded, the frame would play the cam pics. It might also automatically copy down-sized versions of each jpg into a subfolder for future frame selection after cam removal. I like these ideas. They are very suitable for family life. Most people arent too gizmo-y. They just want to plug and play.

The ring cam would get lost easily. I could see it being knocked under the couch by the cat.

The Polaroid design is bound to get crushed/flattened in a purse or backpack.

The other cams are solid concepts.

The choice of the term “stalker camera” is well in line with the current trend of fearing cameras and how street photography is increasingly seen as something perverted by the younger generations. Ironically posing half nude infront of strangers on a web cam seems quite ok.

A tip is to wear a jacket which states your preferred martial art and the name of your club/dojo and you won’t get as many people approaching you. These people usually have intelligent questions like, “what are you doing?” Well, I’m planning a massacre, why do you ask?

“street photography is increasingly seen as something perverted by the younger generations. Ironically posing half nude infront of strangers on a web cam seems quite ok.”

      – Not really ironic. I think people don’t like their picture taken anymore, because they know it will immediately go onto the internet. You know, just 10 years ago, if someone took a picture, it got put onto one sheet of photoprint and was archived for the rest of your life in some idiotic shoebox. These days, however, THOUSANDS of your worst photos can be online by just clicking “OK.” I think many of the people who would pose for photography, by the way, would not want to be have pictures of them taken un-posed. I guess your point is about vanity in general, but an up-skirt or down-blouse is a bit different than a situation you control yourself. The former is an act of violation. The latter is a personal choice.
