Panasonic update – Lumix LX4 maybe in July

Update: a reader just reminded me about this post I wrote last year - almost every year Panasonic releases new products around July 20th.

panasonic LX3 Panasonic update Lumix LX4 maybe in July

The current Panasonic LX3 model

Quesabesde visited Panasonic factories in Japan and there are two interesting bits of information in terms of upcoming products:

  • For some reason Quesabesde is "convinced" that there will be a successor of the Panasonic LX3 and the announcement could be as early as next month (July). The new model is expected to have an improved RAW capabilities and better zoom (the current LX3 model has 5.1–12.8mm zoom, which equivalents to 24-60mm in full frame).

Panasonic always launch new P&S models in mid/late July, so if they have a LX3-sucessor then July is when you’d expect it to come out.

You can always buy an optical viewfinder for the hot shoe.
