   ” The rumor is that Pentax Japan will produce 700 cameras this year and 200 cameras will come to US.” Pentax stated, in the official (japanese) press release, the initial monthly production output to be 500 pcs a month.

           The information should be very easy to find. You have the camera’s image, then two paragraphs of text and then a small table with the relevant data:
           Product name: Pentax 645D
           Price: TBD
           Launch date: mid-May 2010 (it was later postponed to 11 July, due to high demand)
           Production volume: initially 500pcs a month (they clearly talk about months, not years)

           Please, check this again and make the appropriate corrections. 700 pcs per year is a ridiculous figure, this camera is selling better (according to bcnranking.jp, it’s on #69 for the last week) than all but two “FF” DSLRs.

     Isnt it too early to have a replacement for K-x right now? K-7 replacement may sounds good but most likely i would see is a gap filler between K-x and K-7.

       No, it is not. K-m was announced on 22 September 2008 and K-x on 17 September 2009, therefore K-x replacement could/should be announced during Photokina (21-26 September 2010)

   Hi, the 645D is coming to Australia in August for around $12,000 Aus dollars according to the distributer.
