Pentax is expected to announce at least one new DSLR camera and at least one prime lens plus two compact cameras on September 9th, 2010. There could be an additional announcement during, or just before Photokina.
Pentax is expected to announce new K-5 and K-r models and potentially a new EVIL camera for Photokina this year.

a FF I hope
jeorcal — don’t hold your breath.
Personally, I don’t want Pentax to dip into full-frame until they can get it into a package with the same size and features as the K-7. I’d pay a little bit more for that, but not much.
Stop dreaming and get a Nikon, Canon or maybe a Sony. Pentax won’t release a FF camera anytime soon!
Do you have any sort of source for this?
I received a tip, not sure how reliable this information is.
Looks like your informant was right about the date, at least!
What lens?
- DA 30mm?
- DA telephoto?
- 645 DFA ultra-wide?

Matt, are you delusional?!
You’d “only pay a little bit more” for a full frame Pentax? The K-7 is a steal; the K-x is competitive in its class. The least expensive FF dSLRs command a $1K premium at minimum over the K-7.
Last I checked, Hoya/Pentax wasn’t a charity. IF they bring out FF, they need to do so at a price point that is competitive AND profitable.
Perhaps you’d be better served with a used Canon 1Ds? They’re nice and CHEAP.
Wow, that’s a hostile post. I don’t know what I’d want with a Canon 1DS.
If they bring out a FF at a price point than is higher than I can afford, I won’t buy it. *shrug*
I expect that, if Pentax ever releases a full-frame Pentax camera, it would be released with a price around $2,500 and that the price would drop to around $2,000 by the time I could actually get the money together. As long as the price is comparable to the competition (hopefully a little lower), I would find a way to afford it, though — especially if it contained a Sony sensor and not a Samsung one! I really hope they give us one, but I don’t expect we’ll see one any time soon.
