As previously reported, Pentax Ricoh Imaging Americas Corporation announced the Pentax K-5 silver special edition camera kit with a Marc Newson designed DA 40mm f/2.8 XS ultra-thin lens (the same lens from the K-01 kit). The kit will be available in April 2012 for $1599.95.

According to a post on kakaku.com, the Pentax K-5 DSLR camera is discontinued and will be available for sale until the stock runs out. There is a new firmware version 1.12 for Pentax K-5 listed on Pentax UK website but the files are not available for download yet. Expect the firmware to be released in the next few days. Via PentaxForums

PentaxForum reports that Pentax is currently working on a firmware update 1.03 for the Pentax K-5 DSLR camera that will fix the front-focusing issues recently reported on several websites.
