This is probably the f2 zoom that was talked about many months ago

bring 24-70 f2-f2.8 and i switch
Not too wide to be f/2! You can get very shallow with up-close objects. This removes the need for faster prime wides.
You can stop down to 2.8 and likely ensure optical beauty, even if wide-open is slightly unsharp (as wide-open often is).
In many cases any bit of light helps.

By the way, this lens seems to be internal focusing
And also that the high disperson lens in this patent corrects for chromatic aberrations present in the old lens.
What else would it be?!

I agree I’d prefer to see a f2-2.8 in the 24-70 range. But this would make for a great low light focusing journalist lens.
