Sigma patents 18-50mm f/3.5-5.6 lens for mirrorless APS-C camera

Sigma filed a patent in Japan for a 18-50 f/3.5-5.6 lens for APS-C mirrorless camera. During the CP+ show in February, Sigma announced that they will start producing lenses for Micro Four Thirds and E-mount camera systems. They even showed a prototype of a 30mm f/2.8 lens for E-mount (Sony).

Rumor: Olympus to introduce three new PEN cameras in 2011

Zeiss introduces Compact Prime CP.2 lenses with MFT and E mounts

Carl Zeiss will present E and MFT mounts for their Compact Prime CP.2 lenses at the NAB Trade Show in Las Vegas from April 9-14, 2011. The Compact Prime CP.2 lens series for PL-, EF-, F-mount, Micro 4/3 and A-mounts were already announced during Photokina.

Sony a33 listed as discontinued in Japan

Sony a33 camera is listed as discontinued on Sony’s website in Japan. The camera was announced back in August 2010. It seems that the latest Sony cameras have a life cycle of less than 12 months.
