The back of the Pentax Q camera that will be announced in few hoursSeveral readers sent me this image and I am not sure what is the original source: the back of the new Pentax Q camera that will announced in few hours. The price of the camera will be $799.95.

Update: it seems that the source of the image is the Chinese forum Xitek.

Well I guess we can rule out a view finder. Shucks! My X100 remains unthreatened.

I wonder what it’s killer app will be, if anything… Come on Pentax, I’m waiting to be impressed.

There is an optional view finder. The Q site was accidentally up at Pentax for a bit, and it sayd viewfinder. See mu-43.org for some threads on that.

Looks like Iphone killer, but unfortunately you can’t use this as a phone.
It’s kind of brain wash for beginning photographers… the more lenses/equipment you have the better photog. you are. Adding full size tripod to shoot at 1/250 in daylight + oversized cleaning kit would be a great set !!!

Compare this image to the Kenko:

    http://photorumors.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/kenko-C-Mount-camera.jpg

The Kenko is half the price with a MSRP of $350, but is much larger, lacks electronic aperture, autofocus, and presumably image stabilisation and manual exposure, WB, etc. I have reason to believe the Kenko will have superior noise handling characteristics, too.
