olympus pen external viewfinder New Olympus EVF with built in flash leaks in promotional video

In this Olympus PEN commercial you can see a new external EVF that appears to have a built-in flash in the front:

Olympus already has the VF-2 viewfinder that is clearly different than the one in the video:

Just as soon as Olympus figure out they need to put the viewfinder back inside the camera body, a la Fujifilm’s x100, they will have a very nice camera.

      Agreed!

I could care less if my camera is a bit taller, I want thinner w/EVF. Why is this hard for them to understand?

Ah, no. OVF/EVF, just like the beauty on the X100.

Actually – I disagree. I’ve got both, and they both have their benefits. For one, you can’t flip the viewfinder of an X100 up to vertical and then cradle the camera in your hands for extra stability. Don’t knock it until you try it. x100 certainly takes better shots, but for overseas travel, I’ll be packing the ep2 for a while. (the x100 will likely take the place of my voigtlander RF)

yeesh… I don’t know why I even read these things. May have to sell the x100 cuz I get the douche chills every time I hear someone blather on about the thing when they hardly seem to know about it.

if fuji actually follows through with their rumored plans to make the X100 into an interchangeable system, there will be no need to fiddle further with u4/3 and afterthought EVFs.

That’s good news for all the buyers of the handicapped PENs that have no flash unit, but seriously, how high a GN can that possibly pack?
