Fujinon lenses for Canon?

fuji lenses for canon Fujinon lenses for Canon?

Canonrumors received a tip that Fuji may announce a new line of Fujinon lenses for Canon EF mount in March, 2012. Now that's a shocker. Fujifilm recently mentioned in an interview with Reuters that they may re-enter the interchangeable lens camera market with a product that is fully developed in-house, but my guess was that they are talking about a mirrorless camera and lenses.

fujinon lenses for micro 4/3, then fuji makes an iterated X100 with interchangeable lense, and have an adaptor to allow micro 4/3 users to buy this iterated X100 body and use their existing lenses… wow, everything will work for fuji…

Mmmm, I am suspecting that the lens line has something to do with Canon video announcement on November 3

For APS-C sensor the lens is marked as 4,2-126? Sorry for informal words, but that is clear b…..t.

uh, longzoom, I think they just photoshopped an existing fuji lens onto the canon body… they’re not suggesting that they will actually make such a lens.

Fuji used to make excellent lenses for 35mm, medium format and 4×5 cameras. The quality was always great, the Fuji EBC (Electron Beam Coating) and Super EBC coatings are still some of the best coatings on the market. I can’t wait for these new lenses. Hopefully Nikon F and Sony Alpha mounts will be included, too.

Fuji Rabgfinder with an M mount would be an epic idea. I mean the X100 was such a hit and the X10 is very well sorted little camera. Good luck Fuji my bank account and I look forward to doing business with you soon!

Had a fuji training evening with fuji last week with not one but TWO working x10 prototypes.
Towards the end of the presentation there was a very fleeting comment made abt the possibility of Fujinon lenses for 2 types of camera’s. Yee ha bring it on!

How did the AF perform on the x10. Any better than the x100?

AF seemed quick. Conditions were not ideal though, indoors, shitty flourescent lighting and heaps of ppl swarming over the two camera’s.
From what i could tell AF seems a little quicker and a tad more accurate than the x100.
The OVF is bright, but just like the Canon g12 you can see the edge of the lens barrel through the VF, not a biggie, just a bit of a pain. The camera startup by twisting the lens feels great, just enough resistance and the lens zoom is nice and smooth. Wish i had more time with the cam, but the general “feel” of the camera is superb.

I have no clue as to what Fuji’ll produce, but there are a several plausible scenarios:

It could be a top-dollar long register APS-C or FF lens designed to compete with pro level Canon and Nikon lenses and re-establish the Fujinon name as a premium lens brand.

I think it is more likely to be a short register APS-C lens to compliment a camera that looks like an X100 with interchangeable lenses.

However, I suspect that in future smaller sensor cameras will achieve market dominance once high ISO noise is no longer an issue (though diffraction limitations and optically limited very high resolution images will remain the domain of large sensor lenses) because of compactness and value for money… so maybe they’ll go with m4/3 or smaller.
