The Pentax K-r body only is listed as discontinued at B&H.

Back in September there were some rumors about a new Pentax DSLR, but later a Pentax rep confirmed that there will be no new cameras announced in 2011.

    They might have some problem with tsunamies and flooding as the rest of the camera business. There are good chances there are a new camera ready for production when things settles and productionproblem might aswell be the reason for the discontinued K-r.

    pointshooter,pentax’s building never flooded in thailand,different part of the country.
    more likely a new slr in 2012,kr is over a year old.

      Yup but a lot of factorys making parts for the camera industry are affected so Pentax might got into problems with lack of parts.
      Just a guess. ;)

    The successor to K-r should have been presented last September. The takeover by Ricoh delayed that.

    I think it’s just the body. Probably not really discontinued. It’ll be a few months.

    Its going to be a walmart exclusive according to pentax on FB
