New Ricoh 16MP 24-85mm GXR unit in early 2012

Update on yesterday's post: today Ricoh Japan announced a new GXR unit with 16MP APS-C CMOS sensor and 24-85mm lens. The unit will be available in early 2012. No further details were provided.

    I will laugh when this is the size of 85mm nikon lens!
    Nikon 17-55mm will look like a ancient monster…

    Will this use the Sony sensor, as used in cameras by: Pentax (K5), Nikon (D7000, and D5100), and of course Sony?

    I’ll be interested to see the maximum aperture value(s), size of the unit, and if it has any anti-shake mechanism

    Makes you wonder why the M-mount module doesn’t use it (yet)…

      It’s already available in Europe.

    Yawn… what about that 35 1.8 that was patented awhile back? More prime, less zoom!

      I have the X10 and it is a very annoying camera in many ways

        Really? All I want is the digital equivalent of the Contax T2. Minus all the shitty slow focusing of todays digital point and shoots.

    The GXR is an awesome camera with great expansaion capabilities. you have to feel it for yourself!
