Calumet delayed paycheck last week, announced immediate closing of all US stores today

Calumet-Photo-bankruptcy
Calumet posted on their Facebook page that they are closing down all US based stores. The trouble started last week when Calumet employees were not paid at the normal 1 am, instead they received this email at 4:45:

Sent on behalf of Gabe Garcia (Vice President of Operations & Business Development at Calumet Photographic):

First off, I am very sorry that we have encountered this payroll issue and thank you for your patience. I didn’t anticipate that it would take this long to provide an update. I can only imagine how frustrating this has been for you and truly appreciate your understanding. I can’t apologize enough.

As you already know we had issues with payroll this pay period. Due to these issues, there will be no direct deposits for this pay date, instead employees will be issued a live check.

Checks for non-Illinois locations will be overnighted to the store for Saturday delivery, unless you have already made other arrangements. Illinois employees will receive their checks today, due to locality. Those employees who already receive live checks will be able to cash these checks when they receive them.

Again, we are very sorry for any inconvenience this has caused. Should you happen to receive any over draft fees, please send Karin in HR a receipt and we will see that you get reimbursed.

Thank you.
