Sigma DP1s?

The German magazine Computerbild.de (English translation) reports the wild rumor that Sigma will release a new and improved version (Sigma DP1s) of their Sigma DP1 camera. Sigma recently released the DP2 version and I find it unusual that they will go back to DP1s. Maybe Sigma is trying to respond to the expected Leica X1 announcement and remind us that there is a cheaper alternative?

It will essentially be a DP2 but with the wider angle lens of the DP1, I believe that will be the only difference.

Computerbild isn’t a reliable source. At. All.

Thats no wild rumor. In fact this article is a commerical, launched by Sigma itself. If you look closely, you may see the word “Anzeige” in the upper right corner, which means: commercial.

And: For me, computerbild is as reliable as every other photo- or electronic-magazine.

If they want to stay competitive, they’ll have to do something.

There is a tagline below saying “DP2: the successor to the DP1s”. The article is actually written as if the DP1s was the model currently in the market.
