The rest of Fuji’s line-up

Fuji is expected to release more than a dozen new cameras before PMA (yes, you read that correctly). There will be some new instant film cameras. I already covered the Fuji HS10, now some more details about the rest of the bunch:

  • Fuji Finepix AV100: entry level with 720p movie mode, 12MP, 3x optical zoom, 2.7 inch LCD, expected to have high ISO.
  • Fuji Finepix AX200: same as AV100 but with a 5x zoom, 12MP.
  • Fuji FinePix JV100: similar to AV100 but with some additional features, like tracking AF.
  • Fuji Finepix JX250: similar feature as the JV100, but with 14MP sensor and 5x optical zoom.
  • Finepix JZ300: similar to above models but with sensor and digital stabilization.
  • Fuji Finepix JZ500: like the JZ300 but with more powerful zoom and pet detection feature (yes, that’s right).
  • Fuji Z70 and Z700EXR would have unique design and as the name suggests, one of them will be with EXR sensor.
  • Fuji S1800- 12MP CCD sensor, 18x super zoom, electronic viewfinder, dual image stabilized, HD movie mode an panorama mode.
  • Fuji S2550: similar to S1800 but with some extras.
  • Fuji F80EXR: top of the line p&s, 12MP super CCD EXR sensor with low light capabilities, 10x optical zoom, 3″ LCD screen.

Expected announcement: February 2nd, 2010.

    F80: 10x zoom!

    Crap!

Fuji had the most wonderful compacts with the F10 to F31 series,
but instead of developing it towards what the Panasonic LX3
has become, they lost the plot and reduced lens speed, and
made the camera less useful for the serious photographer
in spite of its great sensor. If I want a me-too superzoom, I will buy one.
What is the reason for a 10x zoom (most certainly very slow)
on a Super CCD EXR sensor? In low light the sensor will
not be able to live up to its potential and it will be a lot
worse in practice, than a Pana LX3 or Canon S90, the
F31’s true successors in spirit, because these camera’s
    lenses start at f/2.0!

too many models …. if Fuji wanna be a king of compact camera market share
then they would have to start producing something like E-P1 .

Maybe Fuji has to wait for Nikon to release their camera, sharing the same mount/ lenses.
