Samsung's representative confirmed to AP the existence of the 300mm f/2.8 XF ED lens prototype spotted in this promotional video three weeks ago. Currently there are no definitive plans to release this lens.
Back in February, Samsung already announced five NX lenses and the 60mm f/2.8 Macro ED OIS SSA seems to be already distributed to testers. A new 700mm NX lens is also expected. This summer Samsung will release two new mirrorless cameras: NX20 and NX200.

It’s probably going to be smaller and lighter than the Olympus 300 2.8 for FT… then again, which 300 2.8 isn’t!
The problem is the front element. With 300/2.8 you still have to have over 100mm opening in the aperture. So no 77mm filter, no small light lens, can’t bend the physics
I may be mistaken, but I think Samsung may have misunderstood the idea of a small camera. 300/2.8 will be huge. They seem to be creating lenses for the NX as if it was a regular DSLR. Will be interesting to see how this turns out.
With the NX200, I’d have no optical finder, but if they can make a decent 300/2.8 APS-C lens that is better or cheaper than the existing products on the market, then I’m cool with that. I can’t reach near 300mm on my existing L lenses faster than f/4 and I can’t afford anything better.
Actually, what I’m really hoping for is something with a crop factor in the range of 3-6x with lightweight, bright long lenses for use at range. I’d just keep that system for long range, and the FF DSLR for everything up to short/medium tele.
I can’t figure out who this is targeted towards. Sports and bird photographers haven’t fully embraced EVF viewfinders, and there isn’t a whole lot of demand for this focal length for NX users. I can think of a handful of more useful focal lengths missing in their lineup.
