The new Tokina AT-X 11-16mm f/2.8 PRO DX Ⅱ lens delayed till September

The new Tokina AT-X 11-16mm f/2.8 PRO DX Ⅱ lens is now delayed till September according to an email from tech support sent to a reader:

"The new 11-16mm Type II is not expected to reach the US shores until at least September (and then only in limited quantities)."

The old version still has a $40 mail-in rebate.

    the Delay is only for the Canon Version! The Nikon Version is coming 07.04.2012

    Interestingly, though, just one day after this post, Kenko Japan annouced availibilty for the new 11-16 for April 7th in Japan.

    Actually it says, that the product is delayed for one day (originally scheduled April 6th). But I wouldn’t assume that it still takes another 5 months to get to the rest of teh world…
