After the a33, now also the Sony a55 camera ($799.99) is no longer in production according to DCWatch. The Sony a33 and a55 translucent DSLR cameras were announced back in September of 2010.

Pentax K-5 also discontinued?

According to a post on kakaku.com, the Pentax K-5 DSLR camera is discontinued and will be available for sale until the stock runs out. The K-r model was already listed as discontinued back in November of 2011. Pentax K-r discontinued

After the Pentax K-r body was listed as discontinued at B&H, today Pentax Japan officially confirmed on Twitter that orders for the K-r will not be accepted after December 9, 2011. It will be interesting to see if Pentax (now owned by Ricoh) will release a replacement during the PMA show in early January 2012. Pentax K-r (body only) listed as discontinued

The Pentax K-r body only is listed as discontinued at B&H. Back in September there were some rumors about a new Pentax DSLR, but later a Pentax rep confirmed that there will be no new cameras announced in 2011. Via Pentaxforums

Sony A900 discontinued in Japan

Sony Japan confirmed to DCWatch the discontinuation of the a900 model camera for Japan. This is not really something new since the a900 was listed as discontinued on Sony’s Hong Kong website back in May of 2010. For the US, Amazon currently shows only 20 cameras left in stock.
