Sony announced a new and updated RX100VA (RX100M5A) camera in Japan

Sony unexpectedly announced a new and updated RX100VA (RX100M5A) camera for the Japanese market. The new "A" model includes multiple minor improvements from the previous version:

  • faster processing
  • better high ISO performance
  • improved AF
  • some menu changes
  • improved EVF lag
  • other minor improvements

The new RX100VA is basically a firmware update for the RX100V.

Update: the Sony RX100VA camera was announced also in Australia.
