Ricoh just announced the development of a new flagship Pentax K DSLR camera with an APS-C sensor that will be on display at the next Pentax event that will take place on September 21st. I think this is the rumored surprise for 2019. The official announcement is expected in 2020. No additional information was provided. Here is the full press release:

The K series digital SLR camera currently under development will be exhibited at the PENTAX fan event.
