During the announcement of the new 20mm f/2 DG DN | Contemporary lens, Sigma’s CEO Kazuto Yamaki mentioned again that his company will release "at least one" new, third-party lens mount option in 2022. As previously reported, the potential candidates are:
- New Sigma APS-C mirrorless lenses for Fujifilm X-mount (based on the existing Sigma APS-C mirrorless lenses)
- The first Sigma mirrorless lenses for Canon EOS R and/or Nikon Z cameras
The interesting part here is "at least one" new mount, which indicates there could be more than one new mount option being introduced this year, and that matches the previous rumors mentioned above.
