Here is a recap from FujiAddict on what to expect from Viltrox based on a recent interview by Richard Wong:
- Viltrox plans to release zoom lenses but has nothing to announce now
- Viltrox will have Cine zooms like a 22-200mm 10x cine zoom that is manual focus
- They will also make a 30-300mm 10x cine zoom with manual focus
- Finally a manual focus 42-420mm 10x cine zoom
- So there are three very expensive larger 10x cine zoom lenses by the end of the year
- The three lenses are designed for different sensor sizes, but they are big serious lenses
- The development of one lens takes 1-2 years, but most new lenses take one year
- Viltrox doesn’t have any plans to make camera bodies
- Viltrox is planning a small pancake-style lens that is 20mm f/4.5 that will cover full frame and autofocus for an affordable price of around $150 that will outperform the original trio of APS-C lenses
- Viltrox will focus on AF lenses going forward and making their lenses smaller
- Stay tuned about L mount lenses but nothing to announce now
- Viltrox will announce a new 135mm f/1.8 AF lenses that will cover full-frame and be considered a lab series which will be above the pro line of lenses
- LAB Series > PRO
- Viltrox plans to release 24mm, 35mm, and 50mm f/1.4 lenses that are AF and cover full frame under the LAB Series badge
