Sony is rumored to announce a new FE 28-70mm f/2 GM lens (previously mentioned here) - here are the details:

  • Weight: 1,145 grams
  • Compact design with extensive use of lightweight materials
  • No stabilization and optical parfocus, making it unsuitable for video users
  • Excellent control of dark corners and dispersion, high resolution in the center of the frame, undercorrected spherical aberration, and an overall image that is soft and full of detail

Canon currently has a 28-70mm f/2.0 lens that sells for over $2,700, so expect the Sony FE 28-70mm f/2 GM lens to be over $3,000.
