I already reported that Tamron opened a new manufacturing plant in Vietnam to avoid the new China tariffs:
In a recent Q&A session, Tamron confirmed that they will have a minor impact on the latest tariffs introduced by President Trump because they have already transferred about 85% of production to Vietnam and Aomori outside of China:
Q10. What do you think about the impact of President Trump's tariff policy? If tariffs on China become higher, will there be a big impact?
A10. We will be affected to some extent by the increase in tariffs on China, but in response to the increase in tariffs on China during the previous Trump administration, we have been gradually transferring production of the affected parts from China to Vietnam since then. The company's own brand, as shown in the photo, will be particularly affected, but for our own brand, we will leave some models produced in China and have already transferred about 85% of production to Vietnam and Aomori outside of China, so we believe the impact will be minor. *From the Q&A materials (PDF) for the financial results briefing for the fiscal year ending December 2024 (via dclife)
