This is the first picture of the new Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 STM lens that will replace the current EF 50mm f/1.8 II model. The official announcement will be in the next week or so. The lens specifications are:

  • Lens design: 6 elements in 5 groups
  • Full frame lens
  • The lens coating is optimized for the digital
  • Stepping motor (STM)
  • Full-time manual focus
  • Length: 39.3mm
  • Weight: 160g
