Next week Fuji will release a major new firmware update v4.0 for the X-T1 camera

Next week Fuji will release a major new firmware update v4.0 for the X-T1 camera. Here are the details I received today:

  • Better AF overall accuracy and performance (also during during video)
  • AF system update with zone tracking (for fast moving subjects)
  • New auto macro functionality
  • Eye detection AF feature (focus on the eye)
  • Improved frame lines
  • Shutter dial performance improvements
  • Exposure compensation will be allowed in manual mode

The official announcement will be on Monday (May 11, 2015), but the firmware will be available in late June.
