Fujifilm X-A7 camera discontinued less than 12 months after it was announced

The Fujifilm X-A7 mirrorless camera that was announced less than a year ago is already discontinued at B&H and not available at other major retailers like Adorama and Amazon: I never understood why Fuji needs so many different X camera models with almost identical specifications. On the company’s website, the X-A7 is still listed as “new”:
