New Zhong Yi Optics Mitakon Speedmaster 90mm f/1.5 lens for Sony FE, Canon RF, Nikon Z, and Leica M-mounts announced

Today Zhong Yi Optics announced a new Mitakon Speedmaster 90mm f/1.5 lens for Sony FE, Canon RF, Nikon Z, and Leica M-mounts. The retail price is $649 for Leica M mount, and $599 for Canon RF, Nikon Z and Sony FE mounts. Orders can be placed at the official Zhong Yi Optics website that also offers international shipping. The lens is a copy/based on the $13,695 Leica Summilux-M 90mm f/1.5 ASPH.

TTartisan already has a similar 90mm f/1.25 lens for Leica M-mount (see the sample photos).

The price is $499 and pre-orders are now open at the official Venus Optics online store that offers international shipping  (Adorama and B&H always list new Laowa lenses a few weeks later). The rapid growth of livestreaming in China has led to the revival of digital cameras. In recent years, it has been pushed by smartphones with improved camera functions, but since the texture of the products introduced in live commerce and the facial expressions of the explainers influence sales, the number of cases where cameras are used for shooting has expanded, and demand has increased this year. It is said that it increased by about 20% compared to the previous year.

“The supply has not caught up with the special demand for cameras in China.” Toshiyuki Ishii, Executive Vice President of Canon China, confesses. Due to the stagnation of international logistics due to the corona stagnation, there is a shortage of goods, and the transaction price in the Chinese market remains higher than the list price.
