The previously rumored Canon PowerShot G5 X Mark II camera will be officially announced in the next 30 days. The new version will replace the current PowerShot G5 X. The Mark II model was already registered online under the code name PC2355. The product SKU is 3070C001. The rumored specifications are:
Hasselblad has new teasers for their upcoming X1D Mark II medium format mirrorless camera. The official announcement will be on June 19, 2019.
One of the teasers shows the shutter button that looks similar to the current Hasselblad X1D model (already listed as discontinued at B&H and Adorama):
At the last X Summit Fujifilm introduced the concept of "Value Angle" proposed to measure and compare the potential of a given mirrorless camera system. In general: a bigger/higher Value Angle value (see table above) represents a generally easier way to construct high-quality lenses - see the related portion of Fuji's presentation:
Financial Times (behind a paywall) just published an article entitled "Daniel Loeb calls on Sony to sell sensors business." Loeb's Third Point, in a letter to investors today, according to the FT, publicly acknowledged it had built up a USD$1.5B stake in Sony. Loeb is apparently calling for Sony to hive off its sensors business, listing it in Japan as a separate company. Apparently, Loeb has set up a website laying out his thesis. Sony and Loeb previously tangled back in '13.
