Strange: the Zeiss mirrorless camera teasers were removed

As I was checking for some news/updates on the rumored Zeiss mirrorless camera, I was told that all Zeiss camera teasers were removed. It was very strange that the teasers were published only in China and there was no global marketing effort to promote this new Zeiss product.

Canon EOS R full frame mirrorless camera coming on September 5th?

I received some information from a good source and can confirm that Canon will have a press event on September 5th in Shanghai. There is also a second event in Tokyo on or around September 17-22 where people had to already sign NDAs - this could actually be a factory tour similar to the one from Nikon.

CanonRumors now reports that the new Canon full frame mirrorless camera will be called EOS R:

Panasonic also has a countdown for their Lumix press event at Photokina

After Nikon and Sony, Panasonic also started a countdown timer for their Lumix press event at Photokina. Nobody knows what will be announced at that event.

Here are some Sony rumors from Japan: new DSC-HX95/DSC-HX99 compact camera to be announced this week

A quick update on my post from yesterday about the lack of Sony rumors - Nokishita now reports that Sony will announce a new DSC-HX95 / DSC-HX99 compact camera on Sunday. The new model should be a replacement for the current Sony HX90 (pictured above). Here are the basic specs:

Where are the Sony rumors?

Since the Nikon Z mirrorless system announcement, everyone is waiting to see how Sony will respond. There have not been any reliable rumors on what's coming next from Sony (except the regular guesses: a7s III, a6700 cameras or maybe new 200-600mm and 24mm f/1.4 GM lenses). Today they announced the world's toughest and fastest SD card and they also have a countdown timer on their website for an August 30th announcement, but that's about it.
