Yongnuo announced a new version II of their YN 50mm f/1.8 lens (Yongnuo YN 50mm f/1.8 II). The new model is already listed for sale on eBay for around $74 (only Canon mount available so far). The previous version of this lens was introduced back in 2014.

Panasonic announced the recognition of extraordinary losses. Their financial results can be found here but they do not provide any camera specific data/information (Panasonic’s camera business is under the appliances segment). Last year there were rumors about Panasonic dismantling their digital camera business and placing it under the umbrella of other operations. Nikon’s 2018 financial results are out: profits are up (76.2% operating profit increase for the imaging business) while the number of sold cameras is down. The 2019 forecast is similar – similar profit is expected for the Nikon Imaging Products Business with a decrease in unit sales across the board due to continuous market shrinkage.

Today Sigma issued a press release announcing that the new Sigma 50mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art ($949) and Sigma 85mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art ($1,199) lenses for Sony E-mount are already shipping.

The new Sigma 70mm f/2.8 DG Macro Art full frame lens will be priced at 69,000 yen (excluding tax). The lens will come with Sigma, Canon and Sony E mounts (no Nikon F-mount). Sample photos can be found here. The US price is $569. Pre-orders will opened shortly at Adorama and B&H.
