Hasselblad announced XPan compact adapter for the X1D camera system


Hasselblad announced a new XPan compact adapter for the X1D camera system that allows XPan lenses to be used with the medium format mirrorless camera. The XPan lenses are already discontinued, but they can still be found on eBay (30mm f/5.6, 45mm f/4 and 90mm f/4). The adapter adds 21.4 mm to the length of the Xpan lenses. Aperture and focusing are controlled manually on the lens. The XPAN lenses have no built-in shutter and the camera's electronic shutter must be used. Here are the technical specifications:

  • Maximum outer diameter: 73mm
  • Height: 21.4mm
  • Weight: 112g

Yesterday Hasselblad released also a new X1D firmware update version 1.2.

Voigtlander Nokton Classic 35mm f/1.4 FE lens rumored to be announced tomorrow


Voigtlander is rumored to launch their new 35mm f/1.4 FE lens for Sony E-mount tomorrow (December 19th). The lens was initially supposed to be announced at the 2018 CP+ show (via Nokishita).

The new Voigtlander Nokton Classic 35mm f/1.4 FE lens is a re-design of the M-mount version ($599.99) and is optimized for full-frame E-mount cameras.

During the 2017 CP+ show Cosina announced the development of three new full frame Voigtlander lenses for Sony E-mount. The 40mm f/1.2 and 65mm f/2 are already available in stores.
