Back in April I reported that in 2016 Tamron will announce two new lenses – a wide angle and an ultra tele zoom. After the SP 150-600mm f/5-6.3 Di VC USD G2 tele lens got already announced few days ago, next week (on September 6th) Tamron will announce a new 18-270mm f/3.5-6.3 Di II VC PZD TS lens (model B008TS). The new lens will be available for both Nikon and Canon mounts.

I received some information that Irix is preparing for a new product announcement next week. The company is expected to officially announce their 11mm f/4 full frame lens for DSLR cameras. There is also the possibility for a completely new lens. Stay tuned for additional information.

With the upcoming/rumored replacement, Olympus USA is running a one day special ($300 off) on the OM-D E-M1 MFT camera. For addition information check the product listings at B&H and Adorama. The current Olympus rebates offer up to $100 off on selected lenses.
The Tamron SP 150-600mm f/5-6.3 Di VC USD G2 lens is now announced together with two new teleconverters. The US price is $1,399 (pre-orders: B&H | Adorama). Hasselblad officially announced the previously rumored True Zoom camera module for smartphones together with some new collaborations with ALPA and Sandqvist. The specs of the camera module are:
Hasselblad also promises a new special limited edition camera to be announced at the Photokina show in 3 weeks:
“At the Photokina fair in Cologne in September, Hasselblad will be celebrating the Hasselblad Masters winners as well as extending the 4116 Collection with a special edition camera and an innovative concept study.”

For the 2016 Photokina show, the Swiss camera manufacturer ALPA announced a new ALPA Anniversary Edition Set commemorating 70 years of ALPA as a brand and 20 years of ALPA 12 medium format system (more pictures after the break).
The second news is that ALPA and Hasselblad “formed a collaboration allowing an unprecedented exchange of expertise and technical information“. The company hints that there could be more new products: “ALPA will inform continuously on further new products shown at Photokina 2016“.

Tamron is rumored to announce a new SP 150-600mm f/5-6.3 Di VC USD G2 lens for Photokina. The model name of the lens will be A022 and will be available for Canon, Nikon and Sony mounts (no VC in Sony version). The “G2” probably stands for “generation 2” (Tamron already has a SP 150-600mm f/5-6.3 Di VC USD lens). The official announcement is expected for Photokina.
