More on the upcoming Hasselblad mirrorless medium format camera

Next week (June 22nd at 14:00 CET) Hasselblad will announce a new mirrorless medium format camera that will have the same 50MP sensor/platform as the CFV-50C digital back. The new camera will be compatible with the existing Hasselblad medium format lenses.

New Hasselblad mirrorless camera to be announced on June 22nd at 14:00 (CET)

A quick update to my last post about the upcoming Hasselblad camera – the official announcement will be on June 22nd at 14:00 (CET). You can see part of the camera in the attached screenshot above. The camera was described to me as mirrorless, “very special”, “beautiful”, with an unusual aspect ratio.

Hasselblad rumored to announce a new camera next week

Next week (on June 22nd or the 23rd) Hasselblad is rumored to announce a new camera. I got this information from two different sources and I am now trying to get more details about this new camera.

Update #1: a reader sent me the link to this 50MP CCD full frame sensor.

Update #2: New Hasselblad mirrorless camera rumored to be announced on June 22nd at 14:00 (CET).

Rumors: new M mount camera with CCD sensor to be announced soon

There are new rumors about an upcoming M-mount camera with unique shape and CCD sensor with a resolution greater than 24MP.

There were some reports last year about Voigtlander considering to start a new line of digital cameras. If that’s the case, this will be a very interesting development: Leica will be finally getting a real rangefinder competitor.

The latest Canon and Fuji lens patents

Fuji 16mm f/1.8 lens patent

Fuji 150mm f/2 lens patent

Fuji recently filed a patent in Japan for a XF Fujinon 16mm f/1.8 and 150mm f/2 lenses. Another patent for a 20mm f/1.8 lens was also recently filed. Fuji already has a 18mm f/2 R and 23mm f/1.4 R lenses in their current XF lineup.

Canon has a new patent application for a 30mm f/2.8 DO full frame mirrorless lens.
