The only problem I noticed with the Polaroid ZINK printers is that they aren’t compatible with Apple Bluetooth. So if I wanted to upload pics to it to print that I already have on my iPhone it won’t communicated. That’s unfortunate.

What’s different about Apple Bluetooth that would be different from any other Bluetooth?

      • Neopulse

They encoded theirs to be exclusive between other Apple devices. That’s why you can’t send images or files via Bluetooth to say…. an Android or Windows device because they won’t pair to begin with. Another example is that I wanted to purchase a Polaroid Pogo ZINK Printer for my dad for his birthday, but the device explicitly says that it won’t pair with any Apple devices because they are incompatible. Then I looked up B&H Inventory and found an LG Pocket Photo Printer that is compatible with Apple and NFC devices. So I got that for him. Apple has had that with their phones for quite some time that feature.

Well then, the problem isn’t the Polaroid, now is it?

          • Neopulse

Well, yeah in a way. For Apple using a coded one that would most likely require royalties to use although the other companies don’t go through that kind of hassle since being connected to multiple brands is an incentive for buying.

            No, the problem is Apple.

          That’s not correct. https://developer.apple.com/hardwaredrivers/BluetoothDesignGuidelines.pdf

Most likely they are using an old BlueTooth speculation.

With a screen of 4×5″ and capable of printing 3×2″ stickers… Wow! There is finally serious competition for Playskool and Hello Kitty cameras.

Funny that those images are still significantly smaller than the Polaroids of olden days. Even the Polaroid proofs which come out of my 6×7 Mamiya. Of course, the Mamiya is slightly bigger than this new Polaroid camera.

I think the Fuji Instax is a better design concept, especially for handholdability! Can’t imagine how stable that is to hold.
