  • Looks nice. Good grip

  • I think it’s the Sanny NX3 ūüėČ

In slightly related matters: I can’t wait to see what the Sammy NX20 will look like.

  • Here is a review of the G3 (in french but you can maybe use google to translate, or just look at the pics):

Thanks for the quick review link!
God I can’t stand the look of Panasonic noise. Fortunately It is only bad at 6400. Mind you this was probably taken in good lighting. In real life even iso 1600 would look rather bad at 100%

The British Journal of Photography web site seem to have outed it now and it sure looks the same as the shot on here!

They “Unveiled” it in London earlier. Panasonic claim the G3 to be “the world’s smallest and lightest interchangeable lens system camera with a build-in electronic viewfinder – it weighs 336g.”

Has a 16.3-megapixel Live MOS sensor
Burst rates of up to 4fps at full resolution
      20fps at a resolution of 4.0 megapixels
ISO160 to ISO6400 (I wonder how bad the noise is at 6400?)
AF with 23 focus areas available
Face Detection and AF Tracking, which can also be used while recording movies.
      Full-HD at a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels.
Stereo sound, however, it doesn’t support external microphones.

“The Panasonic Lumix G3 will be available in June at a retail price of ¬£550 (body only) and ¬£629 with a 14-42mm lens.”

  • Camaman

    LOL, £629 vs. $649.
    For how long.
I think its time US starts colecting VAT. Maybe the rest of the world would buy more goods, and increase its standard.

As well as the new camera Panasonic also announced a new diagonal 7.7 mm (1/2.33-inch type) 14 MP sensor which will go into production in December 2011…
“Panasonic Corporation has successfully developed high sensitivity and high picture quality technologies for new MOS image sensors by improving the sensitivity of the company’s őĹMaicovicon¬ģ*2 MOS image sensor and suppressing uneven color and brightness, which may be an issue for low-profile cameras, thereby ensuring more uniform image quality. Using these technologies, Panasonic will start mass production of a new MOS image sensor (MN34110) for digital cameras, a diagonal 7.7 mm (1/2.33-inch type) sensor with 14 megapixel effective resolution, in December 2011 and continues to develop various types.”
DPreview have a Hands-on Preview of the G3 here
Looks like a GF2 with a viewfinder stuck on top, it’s not going to win any design awards is it ?
