i sell cameras, and compared to what this offers over an sx40hs it is vastly over priced.

So you black out the numbers below the shipping bar codes, but not the bar codes themselves? Talk about a mind-boggling oversight.

Only two revisions and we can all have X-S3!

  • Well these arrived in stores in New Zealand today, had a chance to play with one a bit and even sold some. Image quality, especially at full zoom seems fantastic for a bridge camera. A big step up from the HS20 and the Canon SX40—yes I looked at actual prints, I whipped off a bunch of 10×15″ prints just from the EXR auto mode. The viewfinder is the best in a bridge camera right now and the camera feels great in hand.

Tried this last night at a dealer (although no battery was available so couldn’t realy test it).
Feels nice, but is too big and can be mistaken for being a Canon xxxD or something similar. Also don’t know if the X10’s sensor blooming problem would carry on to this one.

And at $800 a pop it’s just way too expensive. Will watch out for the HS30 instead…

DO NOT BUY THIS CAMERA UNTIL FUJI MAKES A FIRMWARE UPDATE!!! I am one of the unlucky owners of the X10. Both the X10 and the XS1 share the same sensor. These cameras turn light sources into completely burned out orbs. DO NOT BUY at this point and time!

Word is that this camera has a different / improved aperture that fixes the orbs issue that some are seeing in their X-10’s.
